BACKGROUND

• Education

My educational background consists of an A.A. communications degree from Military Correspondence School at Fort Bliss, TX., a certificate of completion from the US Army Military Police School in Ft. McClellan, AL., a certificate of completion from the US Army basic combat training at Ft. Lenardwood, MO. Additionally, I have attended investigative seminars, continuing educational classes,and various employer based training classes to further my education in the investigative industry.

• Training related to investigations

My education and training in regards to private investigations started in 2003.  I trained extensively on worker’s compensation fraud surveillance, AOE/COE injury statements, service of court subpoenas and additional general investigative duties. Additionally I received training on interviewing techniques, writing detailed investigative reports, and conducting “locates” on potential witnesses to criminal defense cases.  My training continued throughout the years, learning new techniques, and advanced methods of conducting effective investigations.

• Work experience related to investigations

I have worked as an investigator in California for the past 7 years, specializing primarily in insurance investigations and civil related investigations.  I have investigated a wide spectrum of worker’s compensation and general disability cases.  I have assisted in the investigation of high dollar insurance fraud cases, and have served subpoenas to witnesses in high profile Orange County court cases. Additionally, I have located witnesses, family members, co-workers, and difficult to find individuals for numerous private civil cases. In 2007, I opened Orange Investigations and have continued to evolve with the new challenges, demands and logistics of running a local PI business in Orange County.

• Experience interviewing individuals

I have approximately 4 years of combined experience in interviewing both criminal and civil defendants, witnesses in criminal defense cases, insurance claimant’s, neighbors living close to specific subjects, and family members of individuals.  My experience started as a military policeman stationed at Ft. Bliss, TX.  I conducted interviews of suspected criminal offenders and witnesses.  The interviews were often stressful and grueling due to the nature of the offense.  I also have experience interviewing worker’s compensation claimants, during AOE/COE injury claim statements.  Upon completion of the insurance statement, I would provide a detailed written report of the claimant’s statement, which included decision making recommendations regarding further investigative action.

• Education, training, and experience in preparing written reports and maintaining records

My training and experience preparing written reports and maintaining records started while working as a military policeman, and continued while working at the aforementioned investigative firms.  I have prepared reports which involved alleged theft, vandalism, domestic assault and battery, insurance surveillance reports, recorded statement reports, and other investigative written specimens.

• Work experience related to the interests and needs of the indigent population

While serving in the armed forces, I deployed to Panama and worked closely with a third world society that was poverty stricken.  We helped maintain peace in their communities and gained their trust while successfully maintaining our military presence in their nation.  Additionally, working as an insurance investigator in the private sector, I interacted with people who came from a low income background.  Establishing trust was a key aspect of the investigation.
